Sad Day

Last night ended fine. Lots of questions from Ian, but all good and positive.  Chuckecheese worked out well to be a great distraction.  Once home, all went to bed no problems.

S and T said goodbye this morning without any drama or anything really. Just a simple goodbye and they were off to school. I decided to take C and Ian out to breakfast after we dropped off the littles. Still there were no tears until...

Until we got to C's school and in the car line.  Ian started to tear up and it was so very sad to see him show his emotions as C got out of the car.  He cried the rest of the way home.  (It proved to be too much for C as well.  The nurse called shortly after with C requesting to come home "sick".)

Ian settled down a bit on the way to the doctor office, but he did ask some questions on the ride there.  We stopped off at the store and I let him pick out a few presents for his new family.  He was eager to get them each a little something.  Once we got to the doctor, the tears flowed once again :(

Of course the dr office just thought it was because of the cast removal, but obviously we knew it was more.  He did get the cast off, and did not have to get a new one this time.  He was happy about that.  The tears started again as we walked to the cars.  I put all his things in her car and he got a bit hysterical at that point.  I was determined not to let him see me get upset, so I put him in her car and quickly said goodbye assuring him that he would do fine.  He knows that he can call us anytime he wants to and that we will even come visit him if he wants us to a bit later down the road.

We want him to succeed in his new family!  Whatever we need to do in order to make his transition as best for him, we will do it.  His new family will dictate what they want us to do going forward as far as contact and such.  They will decide when/where/how often he has contact with the kids or with us.

I just received a text from his new mom that he has settled down and is already talking up a storm and smiling again.  Praise God, prayers answered!

Thank you to all the prayer warriors out there, they were felt all around this morning.
