We met our baby bug 5 years ago in Jiangxi, China. She has changed our world for the better!!! Such a blessing to get to be her mommy :)

Hard to Say Goodbye

I am praying for my girls' hearts this week as they said goodbye to their friends last night.  These two girls have been staying with their grandma next door for the past 3 months.  In that time S and F have become extremely good friends and playmates with them.  Today they leave for Florida, and my girls are heartbroken :(  Reality hasn't quite set in yet, that their convenient playmates won't be around anymore.  However, I am certain that will set in soon.  My heart hurts when I see my girls' hearts hurt.  S especially takes loss extremely hard.  It is very triggering for her, so please pray for her this week as she experiences the tough emotions.  These special friends will be missed, I do hope they get to at least continue a friendship via the cellphone.  Good friendships are to be cherished.

Civic Duty

I was thrown out of my "norm" this week, as I was summoned to jury duty for the State Court.  After reporting Monday morning, once my panel of 15 people were called, we entered the court room.  After a few questions, that seems pretty generic to me, I was one of the six chosen jurors.  The trial lasted a day and a half of testimonies and evidence presented, then it was up to us to decide.  I was voted in as "head juror", then we went to work reviewing all the evidence that had been presented.  I was amazed at how quickly all six of us came to the same conclusion, defendant was found guilty.  Plaintiff was awarded $6K of the $20K she was asking for.  I was out of there and given a big ole check of $50 for my time LOL.  It was actually not as bad as I had heard, and a task that I can add to my list of things I have experienced.  I hope everyone (well not really everyone), I guess everyone with an open mind and honest values gets to serve on a jury one day :)

Made State

I'm so excited for C!!  He and F made it to the GA Highschool B.A.S.S. State tournament coming up in a few weeks.  So proud of my baby, watching him succeed at his favorite hobby!!

How Do You Get God's Grace? By Rick Warren — Mar 10, 2016 "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13 NIV) Heaven will be amazing. You'll be reunited with loved ones who know the Lord. You're going to be rewarded for your faith. You're going to be reassigned a position of work that you love to do. You'll be released from pain, depression, despair, shame, and guilt.  You'll rejoice and party for eternity! Spending an eternity in Heaven is a free gift that you never need to earn. You can only get to Heaven by the grace of God. It's the best deal anyone will every offer to you. But there's a catch. The Bible says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13 NIV). To receive the grace of God, you have to call out to him. You have to accept the amazing grace of God. If you were to find a gift on your table tomorrow morning and you left it there for the next year wrapped and unopened, that would be pretty dumb. A gift is worthless unless you actually accept it.  The same is true for God's gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. It means nothing to you unless you accept it. And God longs to give you the gift of his grace. The Bible says, "The Lord longs to be gracious to you" (Isaiah 30:18a). God isn't mad at you. He won't reject you. The Bible says God is ready and willing to give you his grace and secure a future for you in Heaven. You just have to accept his grace!
