We lucked out at just the right time to get to see a turtle nest being dug up on the beach today. The little guys (130 of them) swam out to the ocean three days ago. But today was the final digging from the volunteers to see if any little guys were still stuck in the nest. No live turtles were found, but it was still quite interesting. They did find eight Unhatched eggs and all the other shells. They have been watching this nest for the past two months. It takes sixty days from the time they are buried until they hatch. Oh and we even got to be on the local news too :). Pretty neat stuff!!
